Origin Story
Pinglin District, New Taipei (Taiwan)
Pinglin, a picturesque region in northern Taiwan, is nestled in the misty mountains just outside Taipei. Known for its pristine environment and abundant rainfall, the area provides an ideal microclimate for growing tea. The region’s high elevation, clean air, and mineral-rich soil contribute to the delicate flavors of its famous Pouchong oolong.
Pinglin has several thousand acres of tea gardens, and most residents are engaged in tea farming. Situated at 400-800 meters above sea level, the region's cool, humid climate and well-drained soil contribute to the high aroma of its tea.
Our tea garden in Pinglin is a small family-owned farm with owners who have perfected the craft of cultivating this unique tea over multiple generations. The leaves are carefully hand-picked and processed with minimal oxidation to preserve the tea’s signature lightness and floral character. This farm practices traditional, sustainable farming methods, ensuring the preservation of the region's natural beauty while maintaining the highest quality of small batch tea production.
