Our partner tea garden in the foothills of the Himalayas, Meghalaya is a living example of generations of commitment to the craft of tea. Marbah, the current owner, took over his family’s business, which was originally established by his grandfather and passed down to his parents. Located in the serene village of Jyntru in the Ribhoi district of Meghalaya, this multi-generational tea garden is surrounded by lush forests and stunning natural beauty, making it feel like it’s in the middle of nowhere—peaceful and pristine.
The plantation, which is certified organic, thrives under the shade of gooseberry trees, creating a harmonious ecosystem that enhances the unique flavor profile of the tea. The region’s elevation and temperate climate contribute to the distinctiveness of the leaves, while the surrounding forest offers an undisturbed environment that nourishes both the tea plants and the land.
Marbah takes a hands-on approach to the entire tea production process, overseeing everything from natural farming practices to harvesting, refining, and baking. His commitment to quality and sustainability is reflected in every step, ensuring a product that is not only exceptional but also traceable. His farm is a pioneer in pesticide-free testing and sustainable farming methods, which are setting new standards in the industry.
As a valued partner, Marbah’s farm helps us bring you the authentic, high-quality teas that reflect the passion and craftsmanship that have been passed down through generations.
