  • Benefits

Turmeric is like a little golden powerhouse when it comes to health benefits! This vibrant yellow spice, often found in curry, owes its magic to a compound called curcumin. Curcumin is known for its strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can help fight chronic inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. It’s been shown to improve heart health, boost brain function, and even help manage arthritis and depression. Plus, it might play a role in preventing certain cancers and Alzheimer’s disease. Our Lakadong Turmeric has one of the highest naturally available curcumin content.

  • History

Turmeric has a history that spans over 4,500 years. It was an essential component of Ayurvedic medicine as early as 500 BCE, used to treat a variety of ailments from congestion to skin conditions.

In Indian culture, turmeric holds a sacred status, used in wedding rituals and as a protective amulet. Its vibrant color has also been used to dye clothing, including Buddhist robes and festival garments.

Turmeric’s culinary uses date back centuries, with early references in 18th-century English cookbooks and its inclusion in commercial curry powders that became popular in Europe and the United States.

Excellent turmeric

I have been enjoying turmeric my entire life and have been incorporating it into my cooking for over 17 years. Among all the varieties I've tried, this brand stands out as the most authentic and flavorful.

Having grown up in both India and the US, I've experienced countless types of turmeric, but this one truly captures the essence of fresh turmeric. Its vibrant color infuses every dish with a rich, golden hue, and its potency means I only need to use a small amount. I also create turmeric shots from this and fresh yellow and white types of turmeric, combined with freshly ground black pepper, for enhanced absorption.

I highly recommend this exceptional brand of turmeric—it's simply the best for cooking or for supplements!
