Our Roasted Tsui Yu Jade Oolong Tea is a captivating fusion of tradition and flavor. Named "Jade" for its luminous green leaves, this oolong is grown in Taiwan’s fertile mountain regions and roasted to perfection by skilled artisans. The gentle roasting process enhances the tea's natural characteristics, creating a robust and layered taste experience.
With its golden-amber liquor, this tea greets you with warm notes of toasted nuts, caramelized sugar, and a subtle hint of baked fruit. Origin Story
Songboling Region, Nantou County (Taiwan)
On the lush hillsides of Taiwan’s Songboling region, Master Wu has dedicated his life to crafting a tea that reflects both tradition and respect for nature. Known for his Roasted Cui Yu Jade Oolong, Master Wu draws on decades of family knowledge, pairing it with sustainable farming practices that honor the land and preserve its beauty.
Master Wu’s approach is grounded in a deep connection to his tea fields. Rather than relying on chemicals, he practices natural pest control by planting companion plants that attract beneficial insects. The tea bushes are spaced carefully to promote soil health, and he’s embraced a rotating planting system, allowing patches of land to rest and regenerate each season. Each year, he composts the trimmed tea leaves and pruned branches to nourish the soil, returning nutrients back to the earth.
During harvest, Master Wu employs careful machine harvesting to select the finest Cui Yu, or “Green Jade,” leaves. By setting machines to harvest at a precise height, he ensures only the optimal leaves are collected while preserving the plants’ integrity for future growth. Following harvest, he roasts the leaves over charcoal, a meticulous technique passed down through generations that brings out the Jade Oolong’s rich depth, adding warm, toasted notes layered with hints of caramel and florals.
Master Wu’s commitment to sustainable farming isn’t just about his tea; it’s about preserving a way of life. He sees his work as stewardship, nurturing the land so that future generations can experience the same tea-growing heritage that has been cherished for centuries. Each sip of his Roasted Cui Yu Jade Oolong Tea is a tribute to both the environment and the time-honored practices that make his tea so distinctive. From his fields in Songboling to your teacup, it’s a taste of Taiwan’s rich landscapes, brought to life through Master Wu’s skill and dedication.
